Mark Hobbs is a community pharmacist from Merritt Island, Florida, and serves as President and owner of Hobbs Pharmacy. Since graduation from the University of Florida in 1981, he has worked at the pharmacy, a multifaceted health care operation servicing the traditional community, long term care and home care markets. Specialty services include consulting, medical screenings, compounding, and infusion therapy. The practice provides medications and consulting services to over 500 alternate care patients. They service two ambulatory surgical centers, four hospice organizations and several home care operations. Mark is also owner of Brevard Medical Equipment, a medical/surgical supply company and Maximus Asset Management, a commercial real estate venture.
Mark has served in a variety of leadership positions in both community and professional organizations. He is Past President of the Florida Pharmacy Association (FPA), and has served the association in numerous positions including as Speaker of the House and President of the FPA Foundation. Mark currently is chairman of the Florida Pharmacy Political Action Committee and is active in their Legislative Affairs committee. He has been an officer in the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) as Chairman of the Community/Ambulatory Practice Section. He currently is Chairman of the Florida Council for United Drugs, a co-op of over fifteen hundred independent pharmacies, and serves on their National Political Caucus. He has been named a Fellow of both the American Pharmaceutical Association and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. Mark has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor of the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy and Hobbs Pharmacy serves as a rotation site for the Doctor of Pharmacy program. He is a member of the College of Pharmacy National Advisory Board, past chair of the Academy of 100, and member of the steering committee for the Institute for Community Pharmacy Entrepreneurship.
He has been recognized by his peers with the Marion Merrel Dow Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award , The Frank Tobak Consultant Pharmacist of the Year, and the American Pharmaceutical Association Good Government Pharmacist of the Year . He has he was awarded the James H. Beal Florida Pharmacist of the Year by the FPA, and the Bowl of Hygeia Community Service Award. This past summer, he was awarded the International Pharmacists Association’s Roman Maximo Corrons Inspiration and Motivation Award for his efforts to inspire pharmacists to take leadership roles in their profession.
On the local level, he has served as President of the Brevard County American Cancer Society, Treasurer of the Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Board of Leadership Brevard. He is a past President of the Merritt Island Rotary Club, and has served on the Health First Foundation. Mark resides on Merritt Island with his wife Kim and two sons, Garrett and Alex.
Eric Russo is a pharmacist at Hobbs Pharmacy in Merritt Island, Florida. Raised in Brevard County, Eric graduated from Merritt Island High School before attending the University of Florida. In 1998, he graduated with Honors from the University of Florida with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He was then accepted into the pharmacy residency program at Florida Hospital Orlando. He completed a one year residency at Celebration Health in primary care pharmacy.
After completing his residency, he returned to Hobbs Pharmacy where he began working as a pharmacy intern in 1996. Since being at Hobbs Pharmacy, he has completed training in the Science of Pharmaceutical Compounding from the University of Florida as well as Veterinary Compounding from the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists. As Director of Compounding Services at Hobbs Pharmacy, this training has been used to help patients solve difficult medication issues with the help of compounding. Some of the areas Hobbs Pharmacy specializes in include hormone replacement therapy, pain management, veterinary and pediatric compounding.
Eric continues his involvement with the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy as an adjunct professor and serves as a preceptor to the Doctor of Pharmacy students during their final year clinical rotations. He is currently a member of the Brevard County Pharmacy Association and the National Community Pharmacy Association. In addition, he serves on the Brevard Home Care Advisory Board and enjoys coaching youth soccer. Eric is married to Kim, who is also a pharmacist in Brevard County and they have two beautiful daughters.
Lisa is a Gator by birth, but grew up in Indianapolis, IN. She attended Butler University College of Pharmacy graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy. She continued her education and completed a Master’s in Business Administration in 2001 from Webster University.
Lisa joined the United States Air Force after college. She gained valuable management experience as a pharmacist in the military and enjoyed serving her country. Often relocating in the USAF at one time she had 5 state pharmacy licenses. Throughout her career she came to enjoy a variety of work settings including retail, home healthcare, hospital, long term care and compounding. She became a consultant pharmacist in 2002.
Her husband retired from USAF in 2001 and they relocated to the Space Coast where they found “home” in 2001. Lisa began work at Hobbs Pharmacy in 2002.
She is a member of Brevard County Pharmacist Association, American Pharmacy Association and American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
She is a fan of college basketball, football & open wheel racing. She likes reading and outdoor activities. Her spare time is spent enjoying the company of hubby and their daughter.
Jessica Beal-Stahl is one of the pharmacist at Hobbs Pharmacy in Merritt Island Florida. Raised in Brevard County, Jessica graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1998. She attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville on a full volleyball scholarship where she graduated with honors in 2002 with a BS in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Post graduation, she worked at Nature’s Pharmacy and Compounding Center where she got her first experience in a pharmacy setting. Here she found her passion for compounding and love of the patient centered focus of an independent pharmacy. Jessica then attended Mercer University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Atlanta, where she graduated with honors with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May 2009.
After pharmacy school graduation, Jessica and her husband, Pat Stahl, returned home to Merritt Island area and to Hobbs Pharmacy where she had worked as a pharmacy intern during pharmacy school. She currently serves as Director of Immunizations and is one of our compounding pharmacists. She is an active member of the National Community Pharmacist Association, Brevard County Pharmacist Association and her pharmacy school sorority, Kappa Epsilon.
